There, just a couple topics and that was plenty. I finally got enough info to appropriately describe this place for what it is. This will probably be long and contain large amounts of "words", which should scare away about 90% of this board's population. The rest of you, I hope you have the brain capacity to not totally disregard whatever I say just because I've only been here less than a month (well, to the untrained eye). Because it was long enough. Trust me. I can also almost guarantee that most of you will find this worthwhile.

I guess, at one point, this place was supposed to be fun. That's probably where the name came in. Random Insanity. There's been a lot of arguing about what that name means. Is it just a place to post whatever crap you think of? Is it a place to talk? A place to flame? What? I guess what drew me to this place was that it was a place to laugh.

The first time I came here, I remember topics that were hilarious. Simple, yet fun. Those days were the best. That was then. It was a surprisingly short time later that this place took a turn for the worse. This, contrary to popular belief, was not the fault of the "newbies". It was the fault of the "vets". Think about it. A whole group of people, most likely ranging in age from 13-18, who had this idea that they would control this whole board by fear. Fear struck into the hearts of every new guy over time that, when posting a topic or message, you damn well better post what the vets want or you'll get flamed.

This, in one of the saddest examples of human behavior I've seen in my 15 years of life, worked. Now, a board of fun and laughter was contracted into a board of topics that were held in an iron fist by a bunch of smart mouth children. You all forgot what message boards are. Message boards are for people who want to express themselves in ways they can't or won't in real life, it's a place where people can live anonymously and talk to others without fear of instant judging of their looks or characters. But you, you shameless little vets, you just had nothing better to do than erase all that, and turn this board into a place that could only fit what YOU wanted to see and read, a place not for fun, but for conformity. Anyone that didn't follow your idea of a good poster was shot down, end of story, no care in the world for how they felt about themselves after a good flaming.

You're the cool kids, the popular kids, and it's sick. Random Insanity, friends, is not a fun board. You can disguise it under as many veils as you want. This is not, and probably never will be again, a fun place to be. I read topics aplenty about people asking, "Am I a newbie? What do you vets think of me? Can I post this?" and I think it's terrible. I see people brand new to this board instantly warned not to cross the vets. It's the most insanely sick thing I can imagine. And now, I want to reach out to the newbies. Because there is ONE thing that will keep this board fun. You. You have to stop worrying about what the vets think of you, you have to stop caring about what a bunch of people will do if you post this or say that. It doesn't matter what topics you make, it's the fact that whatever you do makes you happy, and it has an off chance of making someone else happy.

THAT is what Random Insanity was, and what it should be. Let me draw to a close by informing you that I'm not a newbie. Most of you probably know me as Nooply. I left, but I had to get back here and get this off my chest. Because I really did like this board, and it'd be a shame to leave it the way it is without at least trying. Let me also say the flame war with Wayneold was an act, and it was a test to see what would happen if a newbie and a vet did have a fight. And those that posted (except DJ, who was in on it) failed miserably. You automatically sided with Wayneold, again without caring for the other side, just the side you were on. Nasty nasty nasty.

I'll bet you are now modding this for a troll, and I say, go ahead. If you can't stand the truth, at least the way I see it, then go ahead and stick with your own way of running things around here.
