Hmmm... I remember, just about exactly year ago, there were the newbie/vet wars. The old "vets" or the people who were considered the somewhat "elite" of the board were in a sense opressing the "newbies" or the new people by telling them what to do, what is a "Good" post, and what is a "bad" post. I can't exactly say they were horribly wronge, or that would make a big hypocrite out of me (http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/weasel/WFLLaws.html). The vets did however, in my opinion, play a major biased role towards new people. Anywho, the newbies as they were refered to (I was one)were pissed. They liked to post what they wanted. So war ensued. Their were people on the newbies' side, people on the vets' side, and people in the middle. My basic opinions are those nooply stated in his goodby rant, as enclosed at the end of the above link. Basically, message boards are for everyone to have fun, not everyone to yell at others for doing things. At the end of the "war" most of the old vets left, and it was the end of what was considered the first age or the golden age, of RI.

I of course, wasn't here for that "Golden Age" so I can't tell you much about it. A short time later during the summer a time sometimes called the second age, AKA the neo-golden age or the silver age came. That was basically where I came. For the summer, it was great, fads galore, fun stuff, all sorts of other crap. At the end of summer most of the regulars(formerly the newbies of the vet/newb wars) posted MUCH LESS for various reasons such as school. This I guess ended the second age, and what was called the third age began. Which in my opinion started last fall, and hopefully ended a short time ago. The stuff I said earlier were isolated incidents last summer in the second age. Feel free ANYONE to correct me.

I remember Weasel's Bomb Shop when I had the wonderful war with VerySlightlyMad (AKA the tax man). He reposesses everything, then Flow guy saved the day buy playing vanilla ice and giving me and my employees headphones. Of course this was all after Ashton Precis SO2 made Ashton's Weasel's Bomb Shop and such. That was when EVERYONE had their signiture weapon. Mine was the Magna Destructionator 10000. Everyone also had thier own store. Heh heh, thier had to be like 5 food places, 10 weapon shops, and who knows how many pet stores. What a wonderful fad.

I also remember Ashton Anchors: The Evil Twin Enterprise when Ashton Precis SO2 pretty much ruled the entire board by starting the first company. Everyone loved him, and just about 1 out of every 3 topics was about him. Their were Ashton TV shows, ashton RPGs, ashton stores, ashton EVERYTHING. Of course, ashton hated it and stopped the whole thing only to start it up at least 3 more times at later dates.

And how could I forget about the ORIGINAL 500 post topics by DarkKirby? One took less than a night to do. Of course, DarkKirby left suddenly soon after the 10,000 post, only to come back a month or so later and start the whole thing back going again. Hell, there were topics about getting posts in that topic. Of course, DarkKirby got most of those special posts. He had a whole list of who got every 50th post. But he lost it. He even had a game going to see who could get the most points.

Oh, and before all of this was the Vet/Newbie wars when the Vets hated the Newbies who happen to be todays vets, and who started the whole damn problem up again, but thats a long opinionated and somewhat biased story. There was a lot more stuff before what I've said, but I haven't been here.

JustG has won a number of medals, statues and other strange things while playing greatgame's DQT, which was certainly fun and challenging. However, after greatgame began posting the DTQ less and less often, justG, with the permission of greatgame, began his own trivia with an altered format. Focusing just on movies, five questions were posted for each day of the trivia, a tally was kept of the scores for a varying amount of time. At the end of this time the top three scorers would be saved and recognized in each first post of each daily trivia of the next session.

G's Movie Trivia was first held on 9/21/00. There have been 13 Sessions of the Trivia. The highest two sessions scores in the history of the trivia are foxeye with 22 points and Kthulu with 21. Both of these scores were achieved in the same session, Session 6: 01/16-02/15, the next nearest score was 9 points. foxeye has finished first in the trivia the most times with 5 victories, followed by Evil Mario with 2. There were 710 questions asked through the first twelve sessions.

greatgame created the DTQ near the beginning of the summer of 2000, starting out with two questions, getting little response. He pondered leaving, but just stayed on, continuing it bi-daily, a few more joining up while doing so. Big Fat Gaw and Icefall were two of the real sticker ons, most of the RI community playing the game at least once, if not more. greatgame destroyed the Studio, then a month or so later, brought it back, new decor, starting it up with a ReBoot edition. This is where Washuu, the computer, Kiyone and Mihoshi and Sonic and Tail came into play. Also, it switches from trophies to medallions. It was also upped to three questions, four if he had something of interest that he had done during the day. Also, this is where Big Fat Gaw left and Guarionex became a regular, Big Fat Gaw, Guarionex, and Icefall the only three to get the DTQ Award. This was really a big step when he came back. This is when he started the GameShow too, having the box and three curtains. This is where Icefall got her famous convertible and Sonic Boom got the Wing Zero. A little while later, the medallions got changed to plaques, this being the last type of award to be given out. He quit it for a little while, lurking, then finally coming around a few more times, in the end shutting it down, leaving trivia to the movie master justg, who had been giving him some conflict with contestants for many months. ^.^ Of course, it was a good conflict, both of them good friends.

I remember Aussie Jim for one; Nooply's parody of The Crocodile Hunter. Every episode, he'd go out into the wild with a group of cynical kids, and get maimed, and eventually killed by the wildlife, much to the kid's enjoyment. I never had a chance to see too many of them, so I don't know if that's all there was to it.

Not that it really means anything, but I guess I could mention the RILOD too. I created an evil organization one day out of boredom; the Random Insanity League of Doom. I was still a newbie at the time. The base became a semi RP topic, where members fought interlopers, and went about whatever job I gave them; ie. Torturer and Inflictor of Anguish, or Wetworks. Eventually everyone thought it would be a good idea to do the same thing, which led to far too many fad groups, and RILOD's demise. At it's peak it had about thirty members. And for you old vets, I became aware of Evil Meeting after Space Bug, and someone whom I forget paid me a vist when I first started the grou.

In January of 2001, RPGs seemed like a common interest on RI. One day, out of the blue, came a guy called Spirit Wing. Now, Spirit Wing was a cocky son of a *****, and very full of himself. He made a topic about RI and RPGs together, as one. He stated that he was the person to create an RPG worthy enough to go down in history. This intrigued MasterHIM, who made several topics about the identity of Spirit Wing and other such things. Spirit Wing then devised an RPG test, where he made an RPG scenario and would rate anybody willing to role play with it. High ratings went to posters such as Wolfgang and MasterHIM, among others. Turbo Man was particularly targeted by Spirit Wing for bad reasons, and Turbo Man got quite angry at this. After the night of the test, Spirit Wing made an RPG, which, ironically, was a load of ape**** and fell flat on its face. The true identity of Spirit Wing remains a mystery to most, but not all.

The attack of the clones: A non Star Wars episode

A poster named Bowen Croft (Who happened to be my real brother, not one of my alter egos) started posting in RI and one of his first topics was a clone shop, where he would clone whatever you ask him for. Now, I don't really remember the exact reason, but he wanted to get revenge and made countless clones of Bekah Strife (sp) who went on a hugging spree...and destroying a couple of things in the process...or something like that...

And I don't know if this has been mention before...

APOG: The anti pick one game

The pick one game (where someone mentioned 2 things, the next person picks one, then posts another 2 things and so on) Had (I think, if someone could correct me) 2 successful topics, but when the 3 topic was made Tweak (again, I think) made a group called the Anti Pick one Game, whose purpose I guess was to put an end to the topic by posting in it (and ironically keeping it on the first page)

It was st11957. I remember his name well; he and I were very close friends back then, you see. God knows why he closed his account back in... what was it, 2000? 2001? I don't quite remember. But it was somewhere around then, in the summertime, when the chat was still around. I remember being in #aaa with him when he said he was leaving. He wouldn't explain why. Later that night, he closed his account. Wait, was closing your account even around back then? Damnit, I don't remember that either. Maybe he got himself banned instead. I don't know. What I do remember is st11957's love interest in bekah strife. God, the man never left her side. He was with her alllll through the wil_888's/sacramentotzar's Battle! RPG and alllll through the Royal Ranking RPG (this was back when I was in control of it, and also when it was still an RPG, mind you). As I recall, the entire plot of said RPG centered around st11957 and bekah strife... I believe there was some demon involved that wanted to possess bekah strife's body, as well as some evil enemy nation, a war between Heaven and Hell, the second coming of Christ, yadda yadda yadda.

Of course, I'll never forget when bekah strife got hit by that tree branch and suffered from a concussion... or was it a short coma? Bah, I've been gone for too long. Yeah, anyway, st11957 really freaked out, as I recall. And I mean really freaked out. Bekah survived, though, and she still posts at GameFAQs today -- usually on CE now, though, never here. I miss her RPG talents; she was a terrific vampire, and easily surpassed Magus/Vapor Snake in the blood sucking department.

*laughs* I remember when I cheezed you and you made some snide comment which led to when I "Vapor"ized you VS. Oh the good days. Just before that we made up a topic where we took over Japan. No one tried to stop us all we did was shoot imginary things and fought Godzilla.

Then I remember when you tried to take over Sony and we "fought" each other. It really wasn't fighting at all it was more like stumbling around blowing up buildings. Then you had to leave for some rerason and HIM renamed Sony Teasoft. Which such great games as: Tea of Fire, Teacup Trigger, Final Teacup, and The Secret of Teacup. Haha Squaresoft didn't even make Breath fo Fire but we named something after it anyway. I don't think Mecha was there but you used all of your Usernames. It wasn't much of an RPG but it was funny non the less.

That was when the TCA was HIM, g2real, Question Mark, Dragons Lord, myself and Hio Boby.

To think after two years it's still around, a fine specimen of the Army Era.

Lets see, I'm not the best person at remembering things. I think I've seen most of the time CJayC's posted on RI and the RICE thing and then the "War" of RI and CE. I remember the 2rd or third RI lounge, I remember when topics could still go to a thousand, and the day when Ceej lowered it to 500. MasterHIM had a topic about how to cook Norcross, DJosef, and Truegamer. It was a funny topic but was modded along the line. I still have HIM's entire post saved somewhere if you want it. Here's a little taste: MasterHIM's How to Cook Norcross, Djosef and Truegamer Topic April 14, 2001.

Now you know why I said to kill him before, otherwise, he may try to fight it, or get a unholy pleasure out of it. Next, we will butter Norcross, as to allow browning. You may also feel free to rub salt and pepper all over him.

HIM takes out a large stick of butter, and rubs Norcross with it... all over. He then rubs Norcross with salt and pepper... all over.

Now, your Norcross is ready to cook! Note that you can also remove the top of his skull to fill the oven with that wonderful brain smell, but I believe a juicy brain is a happy brain.

Pops Norcross in the oven.
